years ago, a group of moms began the journey that is now the Toy Library in the
basement of a church. After many years of volunteers keeping the doors open, The
Toy Library was forced to find a new space to call home. The New Life Community
Center at 134 College Street adopted The Toy Library and since 2006 have graciously
been our biggest supporter.
In these hard economic times with record lay-offs
we believe that sharing resources can help lessen the financial burden on families
in our community. This is why we recently launched the
"Pick-A-Toy" lending program. "Pick-A-Toy" works like a traditional book library.
Kids can pick from an assortment of games, toys, books, and puzzles,
just to name a few. They can borrow these items for a week or two
and then return them. The best part of this program is that it is free to The
Toy Library community. |
